When the sister duo of Guddi Devi and Suman started weaving the rug Sapno k taar they had a very clean structure and clear design patterns in their mind. They started weaving traditional motifs row after row, but as the rug progressed they started talking about the world of abstract dreams and how one floats aimlessly in a dreamy state. This conversation is reflected in the maze of the lehariya pattern drawn across the length and breadth of the rug. The waves depict a dreamy state and unanchored thoughts.

In Gaon ki duniya, sisters Guddi Devi and Suman have tried to weave elements from their world in the village onto the rug. The loom is a canvas where they express the little things in their life. The rug displays the colours of the landscape, the flowers and shrubs from the fields and lehariya motif. As a treat, they wove in shakarpara – their favourite evening snack. Some of the inspiration of the design has come from Guddi’s husband, who gives new ideas to the sisters from time to time.

The rug Mann ka darpan woven by sisters Guddi Devi and Suman is a reflection of all the things that have a special place in their hearts and in their lives. It has been handcrafted to bring out the best of nature and life. The rug has a lot of motifs and designs put together in a haphazard manner depicting the playfulness and instability of their young heart. Motifs of beautiful flowers, creepers and birds are scattered across the rug, which is enveloped by the local lehariya pattern all around. The rug is a creative canvas of the mixed feelings and emotions that kept structuring inside the mind of the sisters while weaving this rug.
