Santosh was the only weaver working on this rug. Since she knew she had the liberty to design anything, she gave herself the wings to fly high and create something exceptional. Her inspiration was driven by all the different design patterns that she keenly observed, especially the ones in her wardrobe and her house. As she started weaving, different elements came together in union to reflect Santosh’s creativity and her free spirit. There are designs of polka-dots and patterns of jhaalars that were borrowed from her sarees along with elements like shakarparas and leheriyas that were inspired from the wall art in the village. She indeed feels that it was a special moment when she was asked to make this rug solely by herself, and that’s why she has named her rug “Shagun” which means an auspicious moment.

• DO NOT brush or scrub the rug.
• Only vacuum clean it periodically. Avoid using vacuum beater brush mode
• If spills occur, blot immediately. Do not rub the stain.
• Rotate occasionally to equalize wear.
• Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling.
• If thread comes out do not pull the yarn, trim with scissor.
• Periodic professional cleaning recommended
