mamta has named her manchaha ‘basant’, which is the hindi word for the spring season. she wove basant during the spring season when the mustard flowers were starting to bloom. her whole village was blooming with colors and scents, and she decided to weave the scene in her manchaha. she has used wave-like leheriya motifs to tell the story of how the breeze would blow in the village . with small flower motifs she shows the vibrant jasmine, mustar, and bougainvillea blooms of spring.
