This Manchaha makes you believe that beauty has a new definition; imperfection. Bhagchand and Parvati sat to weave this rug with the intention of making it perfect. They wove in their imagination, but the real magic came through by the branch manager’s instruction, “Break the monotony”. Apoornata means incomplete, and this rug is like a three-in-one collection. The composition of colours on both the ends is all about flow, the incomplete lines accelerate into haze and blur what you see, the unevenness in shapes and the never ending waves adds a humanity into the world of machines.

Galiche ka Sleeper which refers to the ‘vertical post of a loom’ is how Parvati describes her rug. This rug proves that inspiration lies in each corner as the couple wove an element from the loom itself where they have been sitting religiously for months to weave. In addition to that, the couple leaving no milestone unturned have woven patterns from their gate, sweaters, trees, buildings and arrows.

The couple chose to name this rug “Roshni” meaning light as they feel that their creation has the power to lighten up the home it reaches. Bright colours come to play and reflect a strong character in this rug. The designs are inspired by the couple’s observations and imagination. Patterns of shakarparas run on one corner of the rug while a river flowing down through a field of harvest, reaching a house is shown on the other.
