Design Story
The Antique city carpet is a masterpiece of Persian carpet weaving, crafted with the utmost precision and skill. Its design story traces back to 1960, when it was lovingly handcrafted in the beautiful city of Ghom. Each element of the rug is a testament to the artistry and dedication of the skilled artisans who created it. At the heart of the rug lies a central floral medallion, which serves as the focal point of the design. This medallion is surrounded by an intricate pattern of floral and vinery designs, each one carefully woven with warm tan and gold brown threads. The combination of these hues creates a delightful palette that adds to the rug's complexity and beauty. As one's eyes move towards the edges of the rug, they will be treated to borders that are just as intricate as the rug field.

City Story
The city of Ghom is located approximately 150 km south of Teheran, close to a dried-up river. It is Iran's second-holiest city after Qazvin, and it is a significant center for theological study and priestly training. A majestic tomb in this city is where the eighth imam's sister is interred. Beginning in the early 20th century, carpet production started. With a pile made of wool or silk, Ghom carpets are renowned for their excellent craftsmanship. High knot density and a variety of patterns, taken from various regions of Iran, are frequently used in their creation. Detail ties are occasionally made of silk. Silk-Ghom rugs, which are made completely of silk, are also frequently used. Plant and animal motifs are frequently found in gardens, medallions, and figural carpets.
