The Design Story
taareTaareCherising her bond with Bholi as Sister-in-law, Priya and Bholi’s Manchaha “Taare” (Stars) showcases their love and unity as a family. Both of them have weaved their houses next to each other, reflecting how Bholi would always stay close to her Bhabhi, Priya, even after she got married and moved to her in laws house. Through their Manchaha, Bholi and Priya have portrayed their unbreakable bond as Nanad and Bhabhi. At the top of their houses, they have woven stars all over and a delicate pattern in the middle of their Manchaha withthe hand-knotting technique and the use of wool and silk yarn, conveying how they both would meet at a central spot from their houses and stargaze together under the open sky. Bholi and Priya’s Manchaha effortlessly portrays how humans can bond strongly over such small things and form an unbreakable bond for life. Priya found solace in Bholi after moving to a completely new place. Their creativity showcases the beauty of Indian marriage, depicting the acceptance and love a woman receives when she leaves her childhood home to move in with her husband's family.
