Weaver Designer Kanta started weaving at the age of 8 with an intention to help her sister –in-law with rug making. As she grew up, her love for the details of the art grew too and here she is today with an experience of 20 years. Her passion became her profession and today nurtures her family of 2 sons, 1 daughter and a husband. Kanta is a staunch believer of following your passion. She believes in doing what she enjoys, free of all fears.
UshaKanta names it after her maiden name “Usha”. She has fondly scribbled “Usha” inside those 2 little hearts, and again in 4 rectangles. The innocence of her maiden self remains as we see ice cream cones on the rug, and along the sides two missiles that she hopes will get the weather forecast right and cauliflowers being her favorites have found a place between the missiles. Apart from that, she has brought the whole zoo to the rug. Being an animal lover, she has given a corner to a lion, a butterfly, a peacock; and also a goat, quite similar to her beloved pet that stays in her front yard. The child in Usha rejoices as she decorates the rug with kanchas (marbles) that she sees kids around her play with.
