Manju is a 26 years-old from Gopalgarh in Rajasthan. She inherited the knowledge of the craft from her mother. Manju is one of the quietest artisans in the Jaipur Rugs family with excellent observation skills. She expressed herself through her designs and weaving. Her Manchaha drew a lot of applause from other weavers. Manju is a very supportive wife and a mother to two daughters, Rachita and Labisha.
Sundar KhajoorManju’s inspiration for this rug comes from her favourite seasonal fruit, date palms. It was the season for date palms when she was supposed to work on the rug. Picking ripe date palms with her daughters served as one of the reasons why her rug came to life so beautifully. She says that the design of the date palm tree and fruit in her rug doesn’t replicate the real ones but is her version of the date tree that looks better than all the rest in her village. ‘Sundar Khajoor’ which means means beautiful dates, is replete with blush tones in pink, it being her favourite colour.
