Kamli and her group of friends are hard to go unnoticed in Aaspura, a village in Rajasthan. Full of life, Kamli, Sumitra and Manisha have been weaving rugs from past 10-15 years now and share great friendship. Kamli is 32 years old and her husband is a daily wage worker. They are all great designers in themselves and also fantastic story tellers. You ask them a story about the rug and they will end up narrating four!
Mil-jhulSavitri made this carpet taking in the inputs of everyone around her; her friends, family and even the quality supervisor. She has enjoyed making carpets using her own thinking many times before, for this one she wanted to see what would come to be when different inputs come together. From overhearing someone talk about mountains or even a small chat about the clouds in the sky, Savitri welcomed it all. ‘Mil-jhul’ means merging together in harmony, and a glance at the rug affirms its name.
