A six member family team wove this rug. Surji and Arjun Lal have 3 daughters and a son. Surji has weaved for 30 years now. She has passed this tradition on to her two oldest daughters Aarti and Pooja, who now work with Jaipur Rugs along with her and wove this rug with her. The younger children are pursuing education in school. Though Arjun works in Jaipur city, whenever he comes back home he starts weaving along with his wife and two elder daughters.
The design theme of this rug is borrowed from nature. Pooja and her sister, Aarti walked around the village to see what everyone is weaving for the artisan collection and decided to weave something which is distinct, eventually choosing black colour for their rug. To make this rug stand out, they used bright colours against black to create a beautiful contrast. The women wanted to weave flowers and decided to use vines and climbers with beautiful leaf motifs to connect these flowers to each other. Between these different vines lie bright colored heart shaped motifs.
