Khajoor ka pedSugna had nothing in mind when she started making the rug, so she started by weaving random designs of her choice. When she clearly understood the idea behind a “manchaha” rug, she decided to depict her love for Khajoor ka Ped (palm tree). The tree reminded her of her mother’s place and sweet dates which she would eat happily. She also made a little bridge from her village where she used to play. When she got married she missed that tree in her husband’s home which always reminded her of her childhood. Thus she has named the rug “Khajoor ka ped”. She completed the rug with big and small flowers and asymmetrical designs to add something different to her design. She has finished the rug by weaving her name on the rug.
