Rekha is a 26 years-old weaver from Takarda, Rajasthan. She has been weaving for 10 years and is one of the quietest weavers we have ever had. And while it is most difficult to get her to share stories about her designs, when asked about her daughters Kritika and Pragya, she doesn’t hesitate a moment before spilling their stories. She is extremely attached to them and says that everything she does in her life, it is for them. Rekha wishes that she can give them all the luxury in the world.
PratigyaRekha was skeptical in making her first ever Manchaha because she had always been technical about her rug making and had never woven her own designs before. But she took inspiration from her older daughter Pratigya and her urge to learn something even if nobody would willingly teach her. The connection between the two sisters moved Rekha a lot and she learnt that there’s no wish that can’t be fulfilled if one tries hard enough. She completed making the rug with a lot of grace and dignity and hence, it reflects Rekha’s personality completely.
