Mahendro and Guddi are a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo from Theekariya, Rajasthan. Mahendro has been weaving for the last 20 years, while Guddi has been learning the craft for the past 3 years. Unlike her mother-in-law who is very outspoken and says what she pleases, Guddi is very shy and speaks less. She has a two-year-old son named Keshav.
Leher‘Leher’ means waves which Mahendro and Chandni, her daughter, have woven in their Manchaha. They were inspired by the design of the curtain in their home and the way it formed waves. They have used a lot of colours in the rug because they wanted their rug to reflect the many beautiful colours we are surrounded by in our day-to-day lives.
