Manju is a 24 years-old weaver from Karana, Rajasthan. She started weaving professionally 4 years ago, after she got married and developed a competitive spirit with her sister-in-law. She recently became a mother to a baby girl named Priyanshi. Manju says she loves to dress up.
Priyanshi‘Priyanshi’, the name of her new-born daughter, means someone very near and dear to the heart. In this rug, Manhu jas woven in her favourite patterns from the map carpets, including a box-like pattern which she initially found difficult to master. Her Manchaha helped her overcome her fear of trying weaving difficult designs, just like her daughter helped her overcome the fear of being a mother.
