Pinki resides in the Manpura village of Rajasthan. She is 28 years old and started weaving 9 months ago. Since then, she has been weaving Manchaha rugs only. She is a mother of two and is a very warm and happy person. She was motivated by her husband to start weaving and she enjoys it because she can do it at the comfort of her own home.
ChunriThere’s no wonder that inspiration can come from anywhere and everywhere. For our weaver, Pinki the inspiration came from a simple design that was printed on her chunri (women scarf). Soon, the peahen feathers caught her eyes in the village and with that the journey of this rug began. “Everyone talks about the beauty of a peacock, I tried reflecting the beauty of a peahen through my rug,” says Pinki with a huge burst of laughter.
