Madhu lives in the village of Achrol in Rajasthan. She is a mother to 1 daughter and 3 sons, all of whom study in school. Her husband works as a mason in the village. She loves weaving rugs as it allows her to manage her family while working from home.
Madhu WaalaWhen she got the opportunity to design her own rug, Madhu decided to create something that would adorn the space of the one who bought it. She chose to knot a ‘Kumbh’ in the center of the design, as a mark of an auspicious beginning. She also wanted the customer to know a bit about her day-to-day life through the rug. The ‘Jaali’(geometrical pattern) pattern is inspired from the gate of her house. She also included butterflies and flowers which she sees daily in her backyard. She calls the rug-Madhu waala-meaning, made by Madhu. With a smiling face, she wishes happiness in life of the one who chooses her rug.
