Sonia (22), Guddi (25), Suman (26), are three weavers from Khora and are just like family. Guddi and Suman are real sisters who got married and stepped into the same home. Weaving has been a family trade and it was passed on to them by their parents 10 years ago. Every once in a while when the rug is complete, they go out together for shopping and share everything with each other. Sonia is extremely talkative while Suman is really shy and Guddi takes the lead when it comes to work. Suman has one daughter while Guddi has two.
Anamika
Anamika means without a name and this is how the weavers describe their rug. Sonia says, “Things without a name are also beautiful.” Initially, they allowed their hands to flow and eventually realised how it transformed. Towards the top, Sonia wove a broken pencil which symbolizes her love for studying. It was during her childhood that it broke and she ended up crying for a long period of time. They have also included shakarparas, leheriya patterns, lotuses and pots onto the rug.
