Meena and Seema are weavers hailing from Dhanota village of Rajasthan. They share a beautiful relation of being sisters-in-law. Meena is 25 years old and has a small baby boy who doesn’t leave her alone for a minute. Seema is 30 years old and has two girls and one boy who go to school every day. They make a fantastic pair and enjoys weaving together.
UljhanThe rug, Uljhan or confusion, is a beautiful outcome of the perplexity and turmoil that was going inside the weavers’ mind while weaving this rug. They started by weaving India’s famous, Taj Mahal and proceeded further by weaving different flowers and petals. They also created a maze on their rug which reflects the status of their mind while weaving their first Manchaha. “We enjoyed weaving Manchaha but, deciding what to weave next was the biggest challenge”, explains Meena.
