Manisha is 32 years old and has been weaving rugs from a long time now. Her parents died when she was eight years old since then she started learning the art of weaving rugs. She has been associated with Jaipur Rugs from past 10 years now and enjoys weaving rugs. She is a mother of two girls and one boy; all of them are school goers. Quite often, her eldest daughter, Kalpana helps her in weaving rugs during her vacations.
Leheriya Ki KalpanaIt was Manisha’s first artisan original and she was equally confused and excited to weave the design of her choice. She suggested the rug to be named “Leheriya ki Kalpana” or the Imagination of Leheriya. “I started by weaving check boxes but soon, I realized that I should weave our local Leheriya pattern, it would be more appealing,” she says with a smile. Therefore, for this rug she chose the local pattern and colors that would provide a visual kick without the need to overcomplicate the design.
