A weaver from last 20 years, Dhafali is really content that her next generation is enrolled in courses like MSc and BEd in Aaspura. Staying in a joint family, she realizes the importance of sharing and growing together. A proud mother of 3 children and wife of a mason, she is now an expert designer of rugs, almost finishing with her third design from what started earlier as an apprehension. Her favorite colours are blue and green.
Designer weaver, Dhafali draws her inspiration from the clothes around her. The leheriya pattern in her sari prompted her to make something different with that design. With an aspiration to create a unique rug, she makes use of different shaped buttons to express that rug weaving has bound together her life in the same way as a button secures two pieces of fabric together. On the rug, she has also woven the design depicting a slingshot, a common game played amongst the kids in the village.
To the owner of this rug“This rug is a milestone in my life and it will bless you in finding yours.”
