Mamta is 30 years old and has been weaving rugs from the past 12 years, starting as her aunts’ student. She is that “one-man army” you would admire; she handles her loom all alone and creates beautiful designs by searching for inspirations. She is a mother of two girls and one boy, all of them are school goers and she loves them the most.
Dhari-dhari Going beyond a hat-trick, Mamta has found the feel in becoming a designer with her 4th Manchaha. Dhari-dhari, which means line by line, describes the formula for inspiration that was used by reading book after book. On her rug, the weaver designer plays on symmetry using traditional motifs with modern artistic twist. A challenge from our weaver, can you spot the symmetrical difference?
