Maina from Dhanota village In Rajasthan has been weaving ever since she was a young girl. She is a very energetic person and a mother of two. She says that I like to do Manchaha but my children disturb me a lot and that’s why thinking about new designs becomes a cumbersome task. But once they grow up I would be able to spend more time creating better designs.
Maina Ka GalichaWhen Maina was asked to create a Manchaha she thought that she will weave a very beautiful design that would be welcoming not just by its look but how it feels as well. She weaved a symmetrical pattern on the top and bottom decorating it with diamond shapes and in between she wrote ‘Welcome’. Her rug turned out simple but beautiful and it boosted her confidence. She proudly says “mera Galicha bohat mast lag raha hai” (My rug is looking awesome). She named it as ‘Maina ka galicha’.
