Annu is 25 years old weaver from Kekri village of Rajasthan. She has been weaving rugs with Jaipur Rugs for the past seven to eight years now. She learned the art of weaving rugs from her aunt in the village. She is the mother of one girl and one boy, both of them are school goers and they enjoy the scrumptious food cooked by their mother. With sheer determination and commitment, she never fails to complete her rug before the provided time.
Saadharan Annu started by weaving traditional Leheriya pattern, followed by an array of beautiful flowers and petals. “I am a simple woman and I love my saadharan (simple) life, therefore, to embark the same modesty into my rug, I weaved subtle designs at the center of my rug so that the rug reflects who I am as a person,” narrates Annu with a big bright smile on her face. She completed her rug by weaving detailed patterns of small flowers. “I hope the freshness of my flowers blooms the lives of the customers,” she says.
