Mere ghar ka aangan
Mere ghar ka aangan means ‘my courtyard’ is how Tara describes her rug. Initially, she was dubious about what to weave in her first Manchaha and eventually started weaving big huts as she is really fond of them. Later, she went on to weave lots of matkas as during summers everyone in the family enjoys having cool water. The rug incorporates shakarparas, flowers, creepers and plants that adorn her house.

How To Identify:

Individual, often uneven knots are visible on the back of these rugs, mirroring the pattern visible on the front.

Individual tufts of yarn are punched into a pre-made backing fabric with a special tufting gun

This process is less skill and labor-intensive than hand-knotting, so rugs can be completed in a shorter amount of time
