Komal Ki Soch
Komal Ki Soch means ‘Komal’s thought’ is how Chanda describes her rug. Towards the right, Komal has woven huts relating to her childhood when she used to dream of having one. Moreover, Kanta taking inspiration from her lehenga and shawl decided to weave leheriya patterns. This being their first Manchaha, is a carnival of colors, clearly shows how a daughter and mother relationship can emerge through creativity.

How To Identify:

Individual, often uneven knots are visible on the back of these rugs, mirroring the pattern visible on the front.

Individual tufts of yarn are punched into a pre-made backing fabric with a special tufting gun

This process is less skill and labor-intensive than hand-knotting, so rugs can be completed in a shorter amount of time
