Sardi Ki Leher
Savitri and Beena, two friends, were sitting on a loom during the chilly winters of Rajasthan. While weaving, they observed the scenes around them – the fog that drifted across the fields, the beauty of the dew-covered plants in the sunlight, and the way everyone wore warm and beautiful sweaters. Using the hand-knotting technique, they incorporated these scenes into their work. They even wove a design inspired by the beautiful pattern on the walls of a home that Savitri noticed on the way of coming to loom. They named their creation "Sardi Ki Leher" (The Winter Breeze) because it captured the essence of the winter season in Rajasthan. They were also inspired by the different patterns on the sweaters worn by the people in the village, which they incorporated into their carpet. One prominent motif was the rose pattern, which Savitri drew after seeing it on Beena's sweater. The result was a stunning hand-knotted wool and silk rug, which beautifully captured the essence of winter in Rajasthan.
