Barf ka Gola
The northern part of India enjoys snow. Mountains, valleys, trees, and roads are covered with a layer of white beauty. Reminiscing their trip, Mamata calls her Manchaha Rug “Barf ka Gola” which literally means “Snowball.” It is because of the shape and colour of the carpet which resembles a snowball. Mamata recalled her trip to Pali. There are random crooked patches on the carpet and those patterns are filled with various patterns. Most of her designs are intricate and minute. She weaved flags, flowers, wings, butterflies, etc. There is a pole in between and two bold strikes parallel to each other on the carpet. There is “Lehereiya” (wavy designs) on the carpet that enhances the overall flow of the carpet. With light-colored yarns and intricate design, this carpet will give you as soothing and cooling effect as its name.
