A weaver from past 30 years, Bugli belongs to a small village, Nagal in Rajasthan. She is a passionate weaver and takes pride in saying that her economic empowerment has contributed to the well-being for her family. She has been associated with Jaipur Rugs for about 13 years now and is very happy.
UjalaDesigner weaver, Bugli has designed this rug with a lot of emotions and thoughts running in her mind. She has tried to bring out the concept of how a small source of light (Ujala) takes away all the darkness from the room. The center of the rug has flowers in the box-like pattern. Bugli sees this as the source of energy, which spreads across through streaks of rays. In the corners of the rug, she has drawn candles and oil lamps, called Diyas in the local language, to symbolize the strength of light. She has also drawn bouquet of flowers and vines of grapes to express happiness through the rug.
