Rangoli JaisaRameshwari Devi’s makes Rangoli outside her house every year during festivals. When she got an opportunity to make her own design, she decided to make it beautiful, and full of colors. She weaved everything that she saw around her. The letters ‘HB’ written in a small rectangle towards the bottom of the rug are from a brick that she sees in her house. She has woven wavy motifs inspired from Leheriya pattern with elements like flowers, palm tree leaves, and zig-zag designs. The upper part of the rug is divided into three parts, and each of them has a story of its own. The part on the right is dedicated to her love for nature, and she writes her name above it. The central part features recurring symmetrical patterns similar to Rangoli, and the left part she dedicates to her cricket idol- MS Dhoni. “I love watching him play”, she says, and writes her name on the top of it.
