Design story –Weaver Designer belongs to a small village called MahaSingh Ka Bas. The design of the carpet symbolizes ‘time’, the time that the weaver has spent in his village. The weaver likes to call this carpet as ‘Samay’ which is a Hindi name for ‘time’. He finds himself deeply connected with nature which keeps inspiring him. As the day passes by, the beautiful play of shadows can be observed on the rug with the perfect use of lighter and darker shades of colors on camels and trees. The weaver through his design represents the ‘chakra’ of each day- morning, noon, evening, night. The design pattern consists of four camels in each row which signifies four months in each season. So in total 12 camels translates into twelve months in a year. At top of the carpet, the birds flying back to their nests symbolizes the feeling of ‘home coming’. To the owner of this rug “It took 2 months to weave this rug for you. It symbolizes ‘be as you are’, retain your qualities. Hypocrisy would not lead us anywhere”
