Vidya Devi hails from Khawarani and is a mother to 4 children; 3 boys and a girl. Her husband works as a mason and she has been working for 20+ years as a weaver, with the last 8 with Jaipur Rugs. She's excited about working with Jaipur Rugs, especially making Artisan Originals rugs, because she has been getting paid on time and gets to use her creativity, unlike her last role with a rug contractor.
Kuch-KuchMeaning "something, something" in English, Vidya Devi's first Artisan Originals rug, 'Kuch-Kuch' is literally a collection of a little bit of everything. She was often told that making an Artisan Originals rug would be a huge challenge because of a lack of design map, however, with the confidence of a 20-year weaving veteran, she decided to be bold and knot designs with no pre-conceived barriers. Whatever came to her mind, landed on the rug in a unique combination of blue and brown shades. Providing a bit of serenity in a beautifully chaotic design, she has placed a complete collection of nature that surrounds her village by including moutains, trees, flowers, leaves, insects and birds.
