Mamta prefers weaving Manchahas over rugs following a map because she can then choose colours and threads of her choice. For this Manchaha, she has incorporated the more commonplace motifs like that of the shakkarpara and leheriya patterns but also introduced what she likes to her trademark in designing Manchahas- the ‘gol dibbi’, or a circular vessel. Mamta’s pickiness in colours shows in her colour palette which she has chosen after a lot of deliberation.
