The Design Story
yadgar qilaYadgar QilaMo.Qm and Siraj’s Manchaha “Yadgar Qila” spotlights their love for ancient historical monuments and palaces. Mo. Qm has hand-knotted the patterns which used to be embedded within the walls of the ancient Mughal emperors and kings of India. At the centre of their manchaha, they have woven long towers which used to be built by the Mughals as a symbol of their authority and power. They used delicate wool and silk yarns to create this rug. In the olden days, it was also believed that astronomers and scholars used these structures to study the mysteries of Heaven. At the top of their carpet, they have woven designs inspired by the idea that a supreme power that monitors the regular functioning of humankind and is the controller of this world. Mo. Qm and Siraj's imagination effortlessly justifies the elegance of the ancient period, which still serves as a source of inspiration and learning for advancing times.
