The Design Story
pyaara bandhejPyaara BandhejRajshree’s Manchaha is a beautiful portrayal of a traditional art of tie-dyeing called the “Bandhej”. At the top of her rug, Rajshree has hand-woven tiny diamond-shaped motifs using wool and silk yarns which she calls choti bundaki (little dots). Her work reflected her love and dedication. Each bundaki held a piece of her soul, each color a chapter of her passion. The other half of her rug seeks inspiration from her saree patterns and the colorful Rajasthani poshaks. Bold and broad patterns took shape, threads weaving the richness of her culture and heritage. Rajshree’s Manchaha carpet “Pyara Bandhej” found its place of honor in her home, and her obsession turned into an art form. Every time she looked at it, she felt a deep sense of satisfaction, knowing that her love for Bandhej had been woven into a masterpiece that would inspire her generations to come.
