The Design Story

Our lives are tied to little wishes we desire. Sometimes, it might just seem little but it's the start of something big. This Manchaha is the epitome of one such wish. With bright-colored yarns in their hands and little wishes in their hearts, artisans wove this Manchaha carpet. The trio - Aarti, Kavita, and Savitri - named their hand-knotted carpet “Khwaish” (Wish). Initially, they attempted to weave flowing water. Later on, they added more elements of nature like sand, clouds, rain, rainbows, waves, flowers, trees, fishes, etc. Savitri saw a saree as her muse and wove patterns inspired by the saree. The artisans gave an end to their process by weaving their names in Hindi. The carpet turned out elegant as it is an amalgamation of entities from nature and their warm wishes intertwined with threads.
