The Design Story
kismat ka khelKismat Ka KhelThis Manchaha took shape in the cells of Dausa Jail where BP Singh and Kabil found their creative freedom. Their carpet is based on the game of mind and destiny-The Game of Cards. Through their imagination, they both have tried to portray how life is similar to the game of cards. Just like our lives require strategic thinking, but ultimately, destiny plays an essential role that cannot be ignored. Seeking inspiration from the same for his Manchaha, BP Singh explains, “Iss khel mein kismat aapke sath hai toh aapko Raja bana degi nahi toh aapko Daas bana degi” (In the game of cards, if luck is on your side, it will make you a king, otherwise a servant). They have symbolized destiny through an hourglass saying it’s all about time and destiny, one moment you are a king, and another moment you become a slave. Their pictorial representation of the card symbols is stunning, with the diamonds standing out prominently. The change in color in each stage depicts how dynamic the game gets with time, taking unexpected turns. BP Singh’s favorite card is the Ace of Spades which he beautifully depicts by weaving a tree of spades on the right.
