The Design Story
light houseLight HouseKhem Singh’s Manchaha rug titled "Light House" captures a vivid memory from his childhood when he marveled at the thought of the view from a lighthouse. In this playful depiction, Khem imagines the lighthouse’s light stretching far beyond the horizon, illuminating both underwater and land life. At the bottom of the rug, vibrant underwater scenes come to life with fishes, plants, and creatures swimming through the depths. Above, the land is equally alive with tulip flowers blooming, houses nestled, and trees swaying in the breeze. The rug blends Khem’s childhood wonder with his artistic imagination, merging the worlds of land and sea into a single, radiant vision of life, seen through the lens of the lighthouse’s guiding light. The lighthouse itself is painted in vibrant, animated-like colors, bursting with life and energy. Khem Singh’s Manchaha feels like a scene straight out of an animated movie.
