The Design Story

jawalamukhi

JawalaMukhi
Babita and Bali's Manchaha "JawalaMukhi" reflects their fascination with nature's transformations. Their home is surrounded by huge mountains, and they are heavily influenced by their surroundings. Babita has handwoven a volcanic eruption on the left hand-side of their rug, which she saw on television. On the other hand, Bali drew inspiration from her own belongings and has included patterns inspired by her sarees and bangles into the beautifully hand-knotted rug. Their rug is a beautiful balance of their external surroundings and daily belongings. They also express gratitude for their harvest and fields, by weaving patterns inspired by "Tall Stems of Bajra" which bring wealth and prosperity to their family. Through their creativity they capture their imaginations uniquely and creatively.
