The Design Story
(Throughout our lives, we have three primary teachers: our parents, our educators, and our experiences. Our experiences are the most impactful teachers we encounter). Bhupesh Soni’s Manchaha, “Badalta Samay” is a beautiful portrayal of his imagination with changing times. As he continues to weave upwards, his patterns changes with passage of time. Bhupesh’s patterns are inspired by chemical symbols, which he studied from a chemistry book at the library of Dausa Jail and hand-crafted its patterns on his rug. Through his weaving, he conveys a beautiful message that change takes time and we, as individuals, need to adapt ourselves to it. As he moved upwards, he decided to reverse the color patterns for open designs, experimenting with his symbols made with colorful wool and silk yarns. Bhupesh’s manchaha collectively summarizes how nature and the world are the biggest teachers of an individual's life and we learn the most from our experiences.
