The Design Story
“beti ki pasand”“Beti Ki Pasand”Beti Ki Pasand" is all about the special moments and emotions shared between a mother and her child. Dhanni Devi and Pinky, the two mothers, worked on a loom together while weaving this Manchaha. While they worked, their daughters, Monika and Gudiya, came to visit them and play around, bringing joy and laughter to the room. As they discussed what design to weave into their carpet, Monika suggested Dhanni to include hearts similar to those on her favorite cushion. Dhanni happily agreed to her daughter's request and wove the design into her creation. Pinky also joined in and included her daughter's favorite raw mango pickle. And so, the rug became a creation of their daughters' joys and preferences. They incorporated the patterns of their dresses, the game of snakes and ladders and other beloved items from their daughters' lives. Together, they infused all the love and care for their daughters into the rug and named it "Beti Ki Pasand," meaning "Daughter's Wishes." It is a touching reminder of the little things that make life special and the love that grows with it.
