The Design Story
sapno ka melSapno Ka MelKarishma and Krishna have so much stored in their minds which automatically comes onto their Manchahas. They say, “Mann mein hi itna kuch chalta rehta hai, kahi aur dhekhne ki zarurat nahi padti.” (So much goes into our heads that we don’t feel a need to search for inspiration outside). Initially they weaved flowers together but then decided to make their own separate designs and see if it comes out as one. Krishna started thinking about a beautiful mat she wishes to decorate her home with and started designing it on her side. Meanwhile, Karishma, drew inspiration from the beautiful frock she brought for her daughter on her birthday. She crafted its patterns on her side using beautiful shades of wool and silk yarn. Karishma saw krishna’s mat design and that inspired her to weave a rangoli pattern that adorns the entrance of her home. Since they love experimenting with new designs every time, they decided to weave a path, resembling the route they often took to their favorite snack shop, a place that held sweet memories of getting treats for their children. Both of them were immensely happy to see how their different mindsets combined itself into one single design. The threads of their lives, their dreams, and their love intertwined to create, “Sapno Ka Mel” (Dreams Entwined).
