The Design Story
chogadiChogadiWhen the opportunity to make a Manchaha rug came their way, Meena found it challenging to start due to feelings of anxiety and confusion. After setting up the loom, they took a break for a day or two, but during those days, they kept their mind engaged in thinking and observing. Manisha, the elder sister, decided to take the initiative and began with a simple design inspired by the tiles in her home. She was fortunate to have color shades that she liked, which helped her get started. Inspired by the tiles in their home, Meena and Manisha created a rug with a similar pattern hand-knotted with precision and named their manchaha "Chogadi" after the word for tiles in their local language.
