The Design Story
yaadon ka bagichaYaadon Ka BagichaKashyam, Krishan, and Ratan have intricately depicted a home garden in this Manchaha. They began the rug by weaving various types of fences to safeguard the garden, using zig-zag, diamond, and square patterns. At the center of the rug, the artisans have crafted an array of floral and plant motifs. This part of the rug truly blooms and gives the feel of a garden. They also wove slanting stripe lines, which they said represent the water being poured over the plants - a small, daily act. As they kept working, Krishan remembered a peacock that used to visit his home back in the village. He said it would dance in the garden during the rains. That memory stayed with him, and he added it at the top of the rug. With this, they named the rug “Yaadon Ka Bagicha,” which means “Garden of Memories.”
