The Design Story
sunehre deepSunehre DeepDuring the festival of Diwali, Anita found herself brimming with joy and anticipation. She had just received a palette of golden-brown yarns, shades that instantly reminded her of the terracotta oil lamps she so lovingly lines her home with each year. As the evenings approached, she would step outside, enchanted by the soft glow of these earthen lamps lighting up every home in her village. Inspired by this warmth, she wove those memories into her hand-knotted rug. The stair-like patterns scattered across it are drawn from the "Imli" game, a traditional village pastime where children etch intricate designs on the dry soil. Anita, with a playful heart, mimicked those patterns in her weaving. And tucked along the bottom, she left a little message for everyone who would one day see her creation—“Happy Diwali”, a simple wish, woven with love. She named her rug, "Sunehre Deep" meaning, the golden lamps that glow not just on the festival day, but forever in the hearts they touch.
