The Design Story
saanjha vaktSaanjha VaktThis rug was woven by Khem Singh, Ashok, and Salman. The three of them worked closely, sitting side by side, deciding patterns as they went. They didn’t have any design plans, but they wove together, deciding on new patterns every day. Khem Singh added the flower vase as a token of freshness and positive vibes that will always stay interwoven within this carpet. Ashok brought in rows of tiny details—like dots, leaves, and flowers. Salman loved playing with balance, so he worked on the middle section, keeping things steady. Together, they wove shapes that reminded them of things they see every day: plants, pots, mountains, temple bells, and borders that feel like fences to protect their respective creative fields. When they finished this rug, they named it “Saanjha Vakt,” meaning “Shared Time.”
