The Design Story
meethe shakkarpaareMeethe ShakkarpaareKarishma and Krishna love making shakarparas during Diwali as it is their children’s favourite. They both share their childhood memories of finishing the sweets and snacks in one go and got scolded from their mother. The children, it seems, have inherited this same fondness for their mothers' culinary creations. Hence, the two weavers always incorporate shakarpara designs in every Manchaha carpet in different ways through their skillful hand-knotting. This Manchaha is a sweet tribute to the Meethe Shakkarpare (Sweet Shakkarpare) which adds a unique sweetness to their lives through the craft of weaving.
