The Design Story
yahya and asifYahya and AsifYahya and Asif used their boundless imagination to create a breathtaking masterpiece, the "Dilbagh," which translates to the garden of the heart. The duo drew inspiration from a captivating picture of Dubai Miracle Garden they saw in the newspaper. Astonished by its beauty, they kept a paper cutting of it and started wondering how such a marvelous creation could be built. During this time, they received a new manchaha order. So obsessed were they with the idea of creating a magical garden like the one in Dubai that they decided to create their own version of it on their loom, using hand-knotting techniques. The duo started by hand crafting a serene water lake teeming with fish and a stunning top view of a cruise ship using wool and silk yarns to take visitors on an enchanting journey. The visitors would then be taken through a typhoon inside the lake, experiencing an underwater ride that showcased the life underneath. The next creation was the heart of the garden which was a prominent part of the garden in their hand-knotted rug, where visitors could feast their eyes on the most exquisite flowers and butterflies from all corners of the world which they meticulously hand-crafted with love. The four hearts woven in different colors represent east, west, north, and south. They would then take flight into the air, landing on a giant chandelier made of flowers. The visitors would be taken up into the air by birds that were upside down, indicating that they were coming to pick them up! Dilbagh is their own fantasy world where anything is possible.
