The Design Story

aage ki soche

Aage ki Soche
Life is uncertain. Often, we are so busy thinking about tomorrow that we forget to live today a little more. Magli Devi speaks about her thoughts on the future while she speaks about her carpet. She knitted this Manchaha rug and called it “Aage ki Soche," meaning “Thoughts about the Future” She started by weaving boxes and flowers on the carpet. She then weaved the “Lehereiya” wavy design throughout the carpet while balancing it with little flower motifs. She has used bright-colored yarns for the process. She lived every moment she spent weaving the carpet as this carpet is her only way to the future.
