The Design Story
pehele se behtarPehele Se BehtarMaya has been teaching herself the art of carpet weaving for the past two years. She has a strategic approach to designing patterns and motifs, and carefully segregates the yarns according to their colors. She has a particular fascination with geometric designs, specifically the diamond shape, and used her experimentation with this shape to create a unique Manchaha. At each stage of the process, Maya was driven to improve upon her previous work, adding her own flair to the beauty of the rug. She created various diamond-shaped structures in wool and silk by drawing inspiration from her surroundings and looking for anything that resonated with this chokhana-like structure. With the goal of surpassing her previous work, she named her latest creation "Pehle se Behtar" (better than yesterday).
