The Design Story
meshkin (c.1950)Bold Geometric Star defines this antique Meshkin rug, circa 1950. The field, a blend of natural brown and subtle red tones, features a prominent central star-like geometric medallion in shades of green and red, with outlining in lighter colors. The rest of the field is filled with various angular tribal motifs and abstract patterns. The rug is framed by multiple borders: a striking main border in red with repeating stylized floral or geometric designs, and inner and outer guard stripes with intricate small motifs in green, white, and brown.
